On the 100th Anniversary of Girl Scouts, March 12, 2012, the Goshen Sarah Wells Girl Scouts were treated to an evening of honor by Goshen Village Mayor, Kyle Roddey.
Local Brownie Troop 103 wrote a letter to the Mayor asking if he would declare March 12 Girl Scout Day in Goshen. The Mayor generously responded by inviting every Girl Scout in Goshen to attend a special meeting at the Senior Center where he handed out Certificates of Achievement to the Troops and letters of thanks to each girl. The Mayor’s letter to the girls thanked them for their volunteerism and encouraged them to stay with Girl Scouts, work hard toward their Gold Award and thank their leaders.
The Goshen Sarah Wells Girl Scout Service Unit would like to send a heartfelt thank you to the Mayor and the Trustees for their support of our girls and our organization. The Service Unit would also like to thank Troop 103 for initiating this momentous occasion.
